1-2-4-All is a structured conversation method that progressively builds ideas from individual reflection through to whole-group sharing. Participants start by thinking alone for one minute, then discuss in pairs for two minutes, combine into groups of four for four minutes, and finish by sharing key insights with the whole room.

2Step 1: Silent Self-Reflection
Participants spend one minute in silence reflecting on the posed question, allowing everyone to form their own thoughts before discussing with others.
3Step 2: Pairs
In pairs, participants share their thoughts for two minutes, testing and refining their ideas in a low-risk environment before engaging in larger groups.
4Step 3: Foursomes
Groups of four discuss the insights from their pairs for four minutes, identifying key themes and refining their ideas further before sharing with the whole group.
