How the FBI Feedback Model Workshop Works
A step-by-step breakdown of the workshop process
1Prepare in advance
Never give feedback on the spur of the moment; prepare what you’re going to say beforehand. Focus on specific tasks and behaviors, keep it short, and ensure it is genuine and sincere. Avoid personal attacks, harsh language, and be willing to listen to the other person's response.
2Ask for permission
Conduct a private 1:1 conversation in person to discuss feedback. Avoid public settings and opt for video chat if in-person is not possible. Ensure to have a respectful and open dialogue.
3Feelings
Express your personal feelings regarding the behavior. Be specific and honest about your emotions to reduce defensiveness and promote understanding.
