Wise Crowds
Wise Crowds is a structured peer consultation method where one person presents a real challenge to a small group, then physically turns their back while the group discusses the challenge and offers advice as if the client is not in the room. The client listens without responding, takes notes, and then turns back to share what was most useful. Every person in the group takes a turn as the client, so everyone both gives and receives help.

How the Wise Crowds Workshop Works
A step-by-step breakdown of the workshop process
1Setup
Arrange chairs in groups of 5, ensuring they are facing inward without tables, and prepare a visible display of the process steps. Decide on group composition and facilitate group formation.
2Step 1: Frame the Process
Explain the Wise Crowds format, emphasizing the roles of clients and consultants, and guide participants in identifying their specific challenges while allowing silent thinking time.
3Step 2: Client Presents
Each client presents their challenge in a two-minute timeframe, focusing on specifics of their situation, what they have tried, and the type of help they seek, while consultants listen without interrupting.
4Step 3: Clarifying Questions
Consultants ask clarifying questions for three minutes to gather more information about the client's challenge, ensuring they focus on understanding rather than providing advice at this stage.
